My Toolbox

Many have asked what my tools are to get me through when I feel like my anxiety/depression is about to spike so I wanted to share! Depending on how much time I have I choose from these:

  • Happy light. A therapy lamp for those who suffer from seasonal depression. Should be used at least 30 min. a day. Bought mine from Amazon.
  • Personal development books or podcasts. Anything positive and uplifting. One of my favorites to read or listen to is Girl, Wash Your Face, by Rachel Hollis.  I also listen to Rachel’s live almost every morning. There are so many great personal development coaches out there you have to find who resonates with you best.
  • Go for a walk outside.  Be in fresh air!
  • Listen to music that makes your heart happy.  My choices are usually pop, hip hop and rap, I need music that gets me pumped and excited 🙂
  • Exercise!  I don’t do this enough but it always helps me feel so much better mentally and physically.
  • Be still.  I take 5 or 10 minutes and sit in peace and meditate.
  • Get creative.  I love drawing, crafting, coloring, painting, making jewelry, so doing any of those things help me a lot!
  • Take a nap, on days I don’t get enough sleep, just a little 10-15 minute cat nap helps me.
  • Talk to a friend. I have found that expressing my feelings to friends helps instead of keeping it to myself.
  • Eat a piece of chocolate. Sounds silly but it helps!

I would love to hear from you about what your tools are!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

From my heart to yours,

Kris
